Staking Certificates in Southeastern Manitoba

Staking certificates are legal documents that clearly identify the dimensions of your property. They must be prepared by a licensed surveyor such as the ones you’ll find at Steinbach’s Keystone Surveys. We have nearly 50 years of experience staking property dimensions throughout southeastern Manitoba, including Whiteshell and beyond.
Why You Need a Staking Certificate
-
To clearly identify your property and any encroachments from neighbours
-
To establish construction limitations such as setbacks and the proper positioning of new structures
-
To avoid encroaching on a neighbour’s property

How a Staking Certificate Is Prepared
Only a licensed Manitoba Land Surveyor can conduct a staking survey and prepare the staking certificate. The staking entails physically marking property boundaries by inserting iron posts at the corners of the property and adding marked wooden pegs beside them for clear identification and greater visibility.
The certificate includes the dimensions of the property, the Certificate of Title number, and the name(s) of the property owners. It is important to have both the physical markers in the ground and the legal staking certificate for accuracy, clarity and proper interpretation of the markers.
